Our thoughts are with everyone in North Queensland impacted by severe weather over recent days. We hope you and your families are safe during this unprecedented phenomenon.
Coogee wishes to advise the following update in relation to the impact of the extreme weather being experienced in North Queensland.
Areas impacted effective 5th February 2019
1. Townsville
2. Cairns
3. Mt Isa
1. Townsville: Status currently OPEN.
Our Townsville Depot has been flooded, however, we are open and in the process of a site clean-up. We would appreciate customer forecasts for the Townsville area to assist the current situation.
2. Cairns: Status OPEN but cut off.
Our Cairns Depot and selected supply routes remains cut off to some routes however we are making local deliveries where possible.
3. Mt Isa: Status OPEN but cut off.
Our Mt Isa Depot remains cut off with main supply routes from Townsville closed.
Whilst available product will be distributed where possible, please note that deliveries will be prioritized for essential customers e.g. drinking water supply and water treatment. We regret to advise that based on the impacts to the areas mentioned above, deliveries to non-essential customers may be restricted. With rail and road cut off in many areas, product availability remains uncertain but product is available and ready to be despatched North as soon as routes re-open.
We continue to monitor and assess the situation, including how best to proceed with the when and how we can look at fully servicing our customers again.
To note, Gladstone has not been affected and is currently fully operational with no supply issues. However, whilst Bowen is currently not affected, the monsoonal low is heading south, so Bowen “may” become affected.
