SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT
Scope
This Policy covers all areas, activities and personnel operating within or as part of Coogee Chemicals Pty Ltd’s business.
Policy
We are firmly committed to take all possible and practical measures to ensure the health and safety of our employees and other personnel directly or indirectly involved with our manufacturing or service activities.
Our objectives are to:
- Place the safety of employees and the public first
- Establish Committees and provide for employee consultation on accident prevention measures
- Conduct induction training and on-going instructions to ensure that all employees understand their responsibilities for safe working
- Ensure that all staff are instructed and supervised to perform their jobs safely
- Ensure safe working practices and safe plant are maintained and continually reviewed
- Ensure that all new substances, processes, and activities are assessed for potential safety and health hazards
- Investigate and take corrective action on all accidents, incidents or hazards
It is the responsibility of all management, supervisors and employees to implement the company Safety Policy and Procedure.
Quality Policy Statement
Policy
Our primary objective is to provide our customers with products and services that consistently match their requirements and we in turn will seek to obtain the same quality standard from our suppliers. Customer requirements will be continually assessed and reviewed through effective communication and feedback.
All business units are fully committed to meeting contractual, statutory and regulatory obligations for safety, service and quality.
Our quality objectives will be achieved through the provision of adequate resources and training for our employees to supply products and services to defined standards. We will monitor our processes and look for opportunities to improve the quality of our products and services and we encourage all employees to participate and contribute towards the continuous improvement in the quality of our products and services.
To ensure that these aims are met, we will use a quality assurance system and quantifiable standards that are regularly reviewed and improved. The requirements of Australian and International Standard AS/NZS ISO 9001 will form the basis for this system.Our Quality Policy Manual describes how the system is designed to meet customer requirements and to provide the feedback to promote quality improvement.
We believe that the relentless pursuit of quality in products and services within our organisation is essential to our long-term success, reputation and employee satisfaction.
Environmental Policy Statement
General Policy
Coogee Chemicals is committed to conducting its activities in an environmentally responsible manner. We will apply a management system that will ensure the application of the highest environmental standards to our products, services and processes. Compliance with applicable regulations will be regarded as a minimum standard.
Objectives
To fulfil this policy the company shall:
- include environmental considerations in all planning decisions and its overall corporate strategy. Products, services and processes shall be properly assessed for potential environmental impact from the initial design stage through to delivery and disposal;
- develop products and services and operate facilities in such a manner that pollution and waste are minimised. Consideration will be given to the efficient use of energy and materials, the sustainable use of renewable resources, and waste recovery and recycling;
- promote its commitment to the environment to its employees, contractors, suppliers, customers and the community. The company shall be responsive to the concerns of these stakeholders and incorporate suggested improvements where appropriate;
- aim to continually improve its environmental management system and its environmental performance taking into account technical developments, scientific understanding, consumer needs and community expectations. To assist with continual improvement, environmental performance shall be monitored and a program of internal and external reviews and audits shall be maintained;
- endeavour to prevent environmental incidents and accidents and have effective contingency plans available for emergency situations;
- ensure adequate resources and training is provided at all levels and shall ensure there is proper understanding and implementation of this policy.
Responsibilities
The CEO of Coogee Chemicals has overall responsibility for establishing, implementing and reviewing the effectiveness of the Coogee Chemicals environmental policy.
The responsibility for implementing the environmental policy rests with the management team. All Coogee Chemicals employees and contractors are required to understand and act in accordance with this environmental policy.
