SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT

Scope

This Policy covers all areas, activities and personnel operating within or as part of Coogee Chemicals Pty Ltd’s business.

Policy

We are firmly committed to take all possible and practical measures to ensure the health and safety of our employees and other personnel directly or indirectly involved with our manufacturing or service activities.

To fulfil this policy we shall:

  • Place the safety of employees, contractors and the public first
  • Provide for employee consultation on safety initiatives and accident prevention measures
  • Conduct induction training and on-going instructions to ensure that all employees and contractors understand their responsibilities for working safely
  • Ensure safe working practices and safe plant are maintained and continually reviewed
  • Ensure that all new substances, processes and activities are assessed for potential safety and health hazards
  • Investigate and take corrective action on all accidents, incidents or hazards

Responsibilities

The Chief Executive Officer of Coogee Chemicals has overall responsibility for establishing, communicating and reviewing the effectiveness of the Safety Policy. It is the responsibility of all management, supervisors, employees and contractors to effectively implement and act in accordance with the company Safety Policy.

Quality Policy Statement

Policy

We are committed to provide our customers with products and services that consistently match their requirements, and we in turn will seek to obtain the same quality standard from our suppliers. All business units are fully committed to meeting contractual, statutory and regulatory obligations for service and quality. We believe that the relentless pursuit of quality in products and services within our organisation is essential to our long-term success, reputation and employee satisfaction.

To fulfil this policy we shall:

  • Continually assess and review customer requirements through effective communication and feedback;
  • Provide adequate resources and training for our employees to supply products and services to defined standards;
  • Monitor our processes and look for opportunities to improve the quality of our products and services;
  • Encourage all employees to participate and contribute towards the continuous improvement in the quality of our products and services;
  • Implement the Quality Policy Manual in accordance with AS/NZS ISO 9001, such that a quality assurance system can be verified to meet that standard, with provision for feedback to promote continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction.

Environmental Policy Statement

Policy

We are committed to conducting our activities in an environmentally responsible manner. From a starting point of compliance with all applicable regulations, we will apply a management system that will ensure the application of the highest practicable environmental standards to our products, services and processes.

Objectives

To fulfil this policy we shall:

  • Include environmental considerations in all planning decisions and our overall corporate strategy;
  • Assess all services and processes for potential environmental impact from the initial design stage through to delivery and disposal;
  • Develop products and services and operate facilities in such a manner that pollution and waste are minimised;
  • Improve efficiency, reduce energy use, use renewable resources and minimise waste through recycling wherever possible;
  • Promote our commitment to the environment to our employees, contractors, suppliers, customers and the community, and be responsive to the concerns of these stakeholders;
  • Aim to continually improve our environmental management system and performance taking into account technical developments, scientific understanding, consumer needs and community expectations;
  • Strive to prevent environmental incidents and have effective contingency plans available for emergency situations;
  • Ensure adequate resources and training is provided at all levels and there is proper understanding and implementation of this policy.
